Quarterfinals Called ON at EDP Ericeira Pro Presented by Estrella Galicia

RIBEIRA D’ILHAS, Ericeira, Portugal (Saturday, October 5, 2024) - The World Surf League (WSL) EDP Ericeira Pro Presented by Estrella Galicia, Stop No. 5 on the 2024 Challenger Series has been called ON. The women’s Quarterfinals will start at 8:05 a.m. GMT+1, followed by the men’s Quarterfinals. The men’s and women’s Semifinals and Finals are on standby.

As the top seeds progress into the Semifinals, more Championship Tour (CT) qualifications could play out. Rankings leader Sally Fitzgibbons (AUS) will be in the first heat of the day against Laura Raupp (BRA). Portugal’s Yolanda Hopkins will face rising star Noah Klapp (DEU) in Heat 2. 

In the men’s Quarterfinals, it will be a must-win situation for both Alejo Muniz (BRA) and Edgard Groggia (BRA) if they want to have a chance of qualifying in Portugal. Miguel Pupo (BRA) could clinch if he defeats Joel Vaughan (AUS) in Heat 3.
