NORTH NARRABEEN, Sydney, NSW, Australia (Sunday, May 12, 2024) The men's and women's Rounds of 16 have been called ON at the GWM Sydney Surf Pro presented by Bonsoy, Stop No. 2 of the 2024 World Surf League (WSL) Challenger Series (CS). Men's competition will commence at 8:05 a.m. AEST with the women's Round of 16 to follow. North Narrabeen is delivering semi-clean, chunky surf in the four-to-five-foot range.

Heat 2 of the day will see former Championship Tour (CT) competitor Miguel Pupo (BRA) take on Northern Beaches local George Pittar (AUS). Pupo is hoping to find some form after being relegated from the CT only a few weeks ago, while Pittar is on the run of his life and is looking for a third Finals Day berth in as many weeks.

Two of the event underdogs who have been turning heads all week, Levi Slawson (USA) and Jordan Lawler (AUS), will go head-to-head in Heat 6 of the Round of 16 today.

The opening heat of the women's Round of 16 will see former CT competitor Nikki Van Dijk (AUS) take on Vahine Fierro (FRA) in a goofy versus natural footer matchup.
